From September 2 to 4, ContainerDays Hamburg 2026 once again brought the cloud native community together for three days of talks, demos, and conversations shaping the future of Kubernetes and cloud native infrastructure.
This year’s edition tackled some of the most pressing topics in the space: platform engineering maturity, the convergence of virtual machines and containers, software supply chain security ahead of upcoming regulatory deadlines, and the growing intersection of AI agents with Kubernetes-native infrastructure. Sessions ranged from deep technical walkthroughs to candid lessons-learned talks from teams operating at massive scale.
Keynote Highlights
The Main Track kept the room full all week, with two standout moments in particular. The Airbus Keynote, hosted by FACIS with Stéphane Poulain and Andreas Weiss, gave attendees a look at how one of the world’s largest aerospace companies approaches cloud native infrastructure at scale. Right after, Kelsey Hightower took the stage for a chat and interactive Q&A, drawing a packed room eager to hear his take on where Kubernetes and the broader ecosystem are headed next.
A Session Worth Singling Out
Among the many strong talks this year, “Building Agentic-Ready Infrastructure with KCP Workspaces and API Export” stood out as one of the most insightful. Presented by Abubakar Siddiq Ango of Kubermatic, the session tackled a problem many teams are only starting to run into: how to safely scope what an AI agent can discover and act on inside a shared Kubernetes cluster. By pairing KCP’s workspace-level isolation with Google’s Agent Development Kit, the talk offered a genuinely practical answer to a question the whole ecosystem is about to be asking a lot more often.
